How requests flow through the Supabase Edge Functions that power BakeMate

All API calls from the BakeMate frontend hit the Supabase Edge Function endpoint. CORS headers are validated inline (no shared module imports via MCP). JWT verification is disabled for all functions.

8 edge functions handle all backend operations. Each is self-contained with inline CORS and logging.

get-customer-products: Fetch products for a customer by slug, optionally by date
get-all-products: Return full 53-product catalog
submit-regular-order: Process wholesale order submission
submit-italia-order: Process Italia multi-location order
get-italia-orders: Fetch Italia quantities + submit status
get-production-totals: Aggregate orders by date for the kitchen
get-pipeline-logs: Read diagnostic/trace logs
admin-manage-users: List, invite, delete, role change, password reset

submit-regular-order (Detail)

The most complex function. Handles order submission for all 16 regular wholesale customers.

1. Parse request body: customer_slug, delivery_date, items[]
2. Split items into two groups:
   toUpdate: items WITH recordId → PATCH existing records
   toCreate: items WITHOUT recordId → POST new records (7 fields)
3. Batch write to Supabase Postgres (groups of 10)
   Critical: Price must be Number(price) not String: Airtable rejects strings
4. POST to Zapier webhook: flat JSON payload
   {customer_name, delivery_date, line_items, source: "bakemate-lovable"}
5. Log to pipeline_logs table with timing data
6. Return {success: true} with trace metadata

Zapier Processing

Two different Zapier flows handle regular and Italia orders differently.

Regular Orders (Webhook)

Step 1: Catch Raw Hook (POST)
Step 2: Code by Zapier (parse inputData.r_)
Step 3: Find Shopify Customer by name
Step 4: Create Draft Order
Discount: 30% default (40% Brighton only)

Italia Orders (Status Trigger)

Trigger: Airtable status → "Submitted"
Code: Read quantities from 8 location cols
Code: NAME_MAP maps product names to Shopify
Create Shopify Order (not draft)
Discount: ITALIA20 (20%)

The final output. Each order appears as a draft order in Shopify with customer, line items, pricing, discount, and BakeMate tags.

Critical Rules: Airtable date fields require DATETIME_FORMAT or IS_SAME() for filtering. Currency fields require numeric values (not strings). Edge functions must await all async operations before returning. The Zapier webhook always returns HTTP 200 on receipt regardless of downstream success.
